While we make every attempt to keep your dog happy, healthy, and safe while in our care, boarding is by nature stressful to some pets. Pets placed in stressful situations may experience gastric changes which vaccines do not prevent. If your pet experiences loose stool, diarrhea, bloody diarrhea, and/or vomiting, we will call to inform you and we will follow a veterinarian approved treatment plan to help your pet resolve these uncomfortable symptoms.
If we are unable to get a hold of you on our first attempt and if your pet is current on an exam, we will start treatment to ensure your pet receives proper care while staying with us.
If you are not able to be reached by telephone or e-mail, we will start treatment immediately and by signing this document, you preapprove treatment for Stress Colitis.
Your pet must be current on an annual exam for us to offer the following, however, if your pet is not current on an exam, we will ask your approval for a veterinarian to do an exam and an exam fee of $52 will apply.
The following treatment will help alleviate the symptoms of stress colitis and will help keep your pet comfortable while lodging with us.
*We will offer your pet Hill's w/d, a prescription diet that is high in fiber and will help resolve the sudden onset of stress colitis.
*We will prescribe an anti-diarrheal antibiotic called Metronidazole.
*We will recommend a probiotic to help alleviate symptoms of stress colitis sooner.
By signing this waiver, you agree that Stay! Pet B&B will not be held responsible for these conditions and SEPARATE CHARGES MAY APPLY if your pet shows signs of stress colitis.
